When the mission fails, you have two choices: die a traitor, or die with honour.

Otto Friedmann, Luftwaffe flying ace, is on an upward track in the early days of World War II, as the Nazi war machine is in its ascendancy.

In 1940, everything changes.

The Battle of Britain - the most visceral, spectacular battle for the skies the world has ever known - sees Otto shot down and captured. When the diary he keeps in prison is handed over to MI5, he faces an impossible choice: spy on the Fatherland, or be branded a traitor for his indiscretions.

Thus begins Otto Friedmann's second war: a fight to keep secrets from both sides, a fight to retain his honour, a fight to rediscover the man he once was. Should the Nazis discover the truth, he will face another impossible choice: the final choice he will ever need to make.
