  • About the Author

    Richard Porter's name is synonymous with conservation in the Middle East. He bhas been involved with birds in the region since 1966, and is an adviser on bird conservation for BirdLife International. He is the author or co-author of several books on the Middle East and the groundbreaking iFlight Identification of European Raptorsi. Abdulrahman Al-Sirhan and Jens Eriksen are two of the leading lights in Middle Eastern ornithology. Abdulrahman was intimately involved with the Arabic translation of the second edition of iBirds of the Middle Easti, while Jens was co-author with Richard Porter on iField Guide to the Birds of Omani.
