Anna loves her life in Applethwaite. Between working at the Sugar and Spice Bookshop Bakery and raising her daughter, Robyn, she's always busy, with little time to think about herself.
When an accident on a walk in the Yorkshire hills brings mountain rescuer Sam into her life, Anna can't help but notice the handsome single dad. As Sam searches for ways to help his son, Noah, discover a love of reading, the pair find themselves drawn together time and again.
But with family responsibilities taking priority and both carrying the scars of the past, neither is looking for romance. As Anna begins to rediscover herself and Sam slowly lets down his guard, could they finally find the courage to put themselves first?
