The ultimate reference to the birds of Argentina, essential for researchers, birders and conservationists alike, this handbook is the first avifauna to Argentina ever published.

Birds of Argentina is complimentary to the magnificent field guide to the region by the same authors, which was published in the Helm field guides series in 2020. It covers Argentina and all Fuegian and Hornean islands south to the Diego Ram'rez Islands and east to the Falklands. Birds of Argentina covers every one of the more than 1,100 species on the Argentine list. It represents a detailed account of identification at subspecific level, describing the differences between similar species, providing behavioural and vocal data, and giving the status and distribution of every taxon.
